Scotty here, I have just received a very kind message from Peter Barnard of A.J. Barnard Engineering based in Bodiam Kent. Just down the road from our Practical Skills Workshop. To learn more about their Services or to make contact just click here.
In his own words “I think this idea is great, we need to get the next generation into what we do… if there is anything we can do to help just shout”
Peter won the MGCC Thoroughbred Championship in 2013. Today he races a couple of Elva Couriers and as a business they look after several FIA MGB’s & Cobras. He used to Race a Class B Midget, so his offer of help with our David JERRAM Sprite to promote our cause is greatly received. No doubt we will hit a skill gap somewhere along the line so your offer is of great comfort. .
Now I pulled the following shot out of their library because I know there is a follower of my site who will recognise this bend and the day this photo was taken. Although the Business was established in 1971, prior to that the Barnard name was already well known for participation in motorsport, with Minis being a favourite back in the day.
Thanks Peter …. we look forward to coming down to see you and hopefully have you up for a morning sharing your knowledge with our Tiny Mechanics / Pit Team. As you know our objective is to provide FREE Practical Skills Training for Kids. The Pass down of Artisan skills is central to our Objectives. How big this will get ….who knows but we hope to help Clubs & Schools throughout the UK one day ….well that’s the Dream…. We are selling Classic Car Parts backed by Leading Major Brands and Specialist Suppliers to help support our cause and to support them. It’s a WIN / WIN /WIN. Maybe we have just found another great customer.
